Poynter Announces 40th Anniversary Speaker Series Featuring Media and Political Industry Thought Leaders
Lineup includes: Ana Navarro, ABC and CNN Political Contributor and Strategist; Andy Borowitz, Comedian and Satirist for The New Yorker; David Axelrod, Author and Former Senior Advisor to the President of the United States; and David Maraniss, Pulitzer-Prize Winning Author and Journalist
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., Aug. 21, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- As it celebrates 40 years as a global leader in journalism, The Poynter Institute announced it will host a 40th Anniversary Speaker series -- four memorable evenings with some of the most recognized leaders in politics and the media.
The speakers and their event dates, which will each take place in St. Petersburg, include Ana Navarro, ABC and CNN Political Contributor and Strategist, on Sept. 10; Andy Borowitz, Comedian and Satirist for The New Yorker, on Oct. 28; David Axelrod, Author and Former Senior Advisor to President Barack Obama, on Nov. 13, and David Maraniss, a Pulitzer-Prize winning author and Associate Editor of The Washington Post, on Dec. 2. Each evening will include an engaging and thoughtful discussion about relevant topics in the news, as well as an optional reception and dinner.

Ana Navarro kicks off the Speaker Series on Sept. 10, 2015 at The Poynter Institute in downtown St. Petersburg. At the event, she'll discuss issues important to Hispanic voters and how they will impact the 2016 presidential race. Navarro is a nationally known political contributor and strategist who appears regularly on ABC, CNN and CNN Espanol.
