PowerNet Global Celebrates 20 Year Milestone in Telecom Industry
New technologies and partnerships continue to spur growth for the company today and into the future.
CINCINNATI, Sept. 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- PowerNet Global, headquartered in Cincinnati, OH and founded by President & CEO Bernie Stevens in 1992, will celebrate its 20th anniversary in the telecommunications industry on October 19, 2012. Now a leading communications provider, serving voice, data, SIP, and managed solutions to thousands of commercial and residential customers nationwide, PowerNet Global first began in the basement of Stevens' West Chester home when he recognized the opportunity to resell long distance service. "I don't know if I chose it, so much as it chose me," said the CEO of how he came into the industry.
In 1996, PNG acquired its first switch to become a facilities-based carrier, and then two years later, obtained its first VoIP switch, giving it claim as one of the first IP networks. 2004 was a significant year for PowerNet Global, with a number of achievements marking its growth. PowerNet Global was recognized as one of America's fastest growing companies with an Inc. 500 award, Stevens was named Deal Maker/Entrepreneur of the Year Award by the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), and the company ranked on the Deloitte Cincinnati USA 100 and Business Courier's Fast 50 lists as one of the largest private companies in the greater Cincinnati area.
Many years later, PowerNet Global is poised for continued growth through the many business and residential services offered, including fixed wireless technologies and award-winning voice solutions for call centers. In fact, PowerNet Global's NetDialer, outbound long distance solution for call centers, has seen a 2300% growth in revenue in the past 18 months.
PowerNet Global also plans to grow business through strategic alliances with other technology partners, recently achieving status as the largest Allworx reseller of premised-based IP PBX solutions in Ohio and Kentucky and only Ruckus Wireless Top Dog Authorized Partner for wireless and Wi-Fi networking in the region.
PowerNet Global also continues to receive distinction as one of the Tri-State's largest private companies and community supporters. In the past year, PowerNet Global was recognized in the following programs: the 2012 Medical Mutual Pillar Award, 2012 Business Courier Innovations Award, 2012 Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber Small Business Excellence Awards, 2011 Internet Telephony Product of the Year, and many others as well. Stevens attributes the company's success and growth to good timing, hard work, and a culture of caring for employees, customers, and the community as a whole. "There's no separation between business and life – meaning, I don't believe in treating business any differently than I would treat other areas of my life. When we began experiencing success as a company, we realized we'd received a gift, and that it was important to share what we could with the community. That's why PowerNet Global is what it is today," he said.
The company will celebrate their official 20-year milestone with a luncheon on October 3, at the Savannah Center in West Chester, Ohio. Media welcomed, although reservations required. Please contact Lisa Croswait at 1.855.873.1499 to reserve a spot.
