PowerDMS Makes Crucial Content More Accessible with Move to AWS GovCloud (US)
ORLANDO, Fla., Oct. 11, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- PowerDMS, a leader in cloud-based policy, training, and crucial content management software, has announced a successful migration of its production network and system components to Amazon Web Services (AWS) GovCloud (US). This AWS cloud region is designed to host sensitive data, regulated workloads, and address the most stringent U.S. government security and compliance requirements. It provides a secure environment ensuring fast, reliable access to crucial policies, procedures, school site plans, videos, and more for PowerDMS customers.
Founded in 2001, PowerDMS helps high-trust organizations reduce risk and liability, and save lives by ensuring staff sees, understands, and has access to important information. The majority of its over 3,000 customers are in the public sector and include law enforcement, government, healthcare, and sophisticated corporations.
"Many of our customers such as PowerDMS have unique compliance needs, and we're committed to providing them with a cloud environment that exceeds those standards, while allowing them to take advantage of the agility and innovation that cloud provides," said Kim Majerus, Head of U.S. State and Local Government at AWS.
AWS GovCloud (US) is an isolated AWS region, subject to FedRAMP High and Moderate baselines, and it allows customers to host sensitive Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and all types of regulated workloads. The region is operated by employees who are U.S. citizens on U.S. soil. The region is only accessible to vetted U.S. entities and root account holders, who must confirm they are U.S. Persons to gain access to this region. From Personally Identifiable Information (PII), sensitive patient medical records, and financial data to law enforcement data, export controlled data and other forms of CUI, AWS GovCloud (US) can help customers address compliance at every stage of their cloud journey.
PowerDMS understands the complexity and sensitivity of public agencies' content, such as criminal justice information (CJI) maintained by government and civilian agencies. For this reason, PowerDMS is CJIS, HIPAA, and SOC 2 compliant, and undergoes annual audits to ensure the continued security of customer data.
"Our customers trust us to protect their most crucial content and we're constantly looking for new ways to increase security and performance," said David DiGiacomo, CEO at PowerDMS. "With AWS GovCloud (US) we can meet more rigorous compliance standards, be more agile, and operate more efficiently. Our customers can count on us to provide their most crucial content in crucial situations—when seconds matter."
PowerDMS is excited to collaborate with AWS to provide customers with helpful resources. The two companies recently announced a free webinar, Protecting Your Mission-Critical Content Against Ransom Attacks, featuring an Amazon cybersecurity expert. Visit www.powerdms.com/webinar to register.
