Power Home Remodeling Group Named #1 of 50 Best Workplaces for Camaraderie by FORTUNE
Ranking comes from positive employee feedback around company's unique culture of togetherness
CHESTER, Pa., Jan. 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Power Home Remodeling Group, the nation's second largest exterior home remodeler, is proud to announce that the company has been named #1 best workplace for camaraderie in the country by FORTUNE and Great Place to Work®. The Best Workplaces for Camaraderie is a best of the best ranking, stemming directly from employee feedback.
"Camaraderie is a word that remains at the heart of Power and creating a collaborative workplace that keeps our employees as happy as they can be is always our main goal — this year alone, we have invested millions of dollars on events, not to drive revenue, but strictly for our people," said Asher Raphael, Power's Co-Chief Executive Officer. "We are immensely proud of this recognition and view it as another positive reinforcement of why we continue to heavily invest in our employees — an investment that we truly believe is most important."
Nearly 600 companies were evaluated and received workplace reviews, which reflect the opinions of over 255,000 employees who were randomly selected to complete Great Place to Work's Trust Index(C) employee survey. Employees were asked questions about the quality of personal connections they experience with colleagues, taking into account how comfortable people feel being themselves; how friendly, cooperative and fun the workplace is; and the strength of its teams.
According to one Power employee's feedback from the survey, "Power really cares about their employees and fosters a real sense of camaraderie. Through personal struggles outside of work, they were really great in showing support and helping me through a difficult circumstance. There is also a real sense of team here. It feels like we are all working toward a common goal of building a great business and creating a gratifying experience for the customers. I hope to work here until I retire."
This year alone, Power invested more than $4 million on events — from a year-end, company-paid trip to Mexico, six large-scale leadership conferences and a number of fun monthly events across its 10 territories, there are a number of ways for Power employees to come together and have fun outside of the office.
"Companies that develop strong personal ties among employees and make time for fun at work aren't just doing it to be nice — it's a critical strategic investment," said Michael Bush, CEO of Great Place to Work United States. "Workplaces with strong camaraderie are associated with higher levels of cooperation, effort, and effective communication — all essential ingredients of a high-performing organization."
Power continues to be nationally recognized as a top workplace in the country, demonstrated by several other awards in 2015, including No. 1 Best Place to Work for Millennials by Fortune and Great Place to Work®, recognized as one of 20 Coolest Companies in Philadelphia by Philadelphia Magazine and ranked No. 15 on Glassdoor's 2016 Best Places to Work list and No. 25 on Glassdoor's list of Highest Rated CEOs.
