Power Home Remodeling Group™ Co-Founder Adam Kaliner Named CFO of the Year in Large Business Category
Kaliner awarded honor today at ceremony hosted by the Philadelphia Business Journal and Drexel University LeBow College of Business
CHESTER, Pa., July 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Adam Kaliner, Co-founder, President and Chief Financial Officer at Power Home Remodeling Group, the nation's fourth largest home remodeling company, was named CFO of the Year in the large business category at the CFO of the Year Awards, hosted by the Philadelphia Business Journal and Drexel University LeBow College of Business. At the Crystal Tea Room in Philadelphia, Kaliner was recognized as one of only 7 CFOs out of 20 finalists in the 8 county region served by the Philadelphia Business Journal to be given the honor and title of CFO of the Year.
Finalists were chosen based on several factors including their role in the organization, their impact on company growth and success, evidence of implementation of their strategic initiatives, contributions to the community, and proven integrity and ethics in management and business practices.
Shortly after graduating from college, Kaliner co-founded Power Home Remodeling Group (formerly Power Windows and Siding) in 1992, and under his leadership it has grown into the nation's fourth largest home remodeling company with more than 900 employees and $135 million in sales. Kaliner is responsible for the overall direction and growth of the company, finance and accounting, operations, technology, and vendor relations. Under his financial management and leadership, Power has experienced a phenomenal three-year growth of 367 percent, even through the economic downturn. Kaliner recently oversaw expansion into Long Island and Boston, and later this year will open a new location in Atlanta, with a projection of creating 1,000 new jobs in the next three to five years.
Kaliner commented, "I was honored to be named CFO of the Year today, and was proud to stand alongside some of the most distinguished and talented business leaders in our area. I look forward to earning this title by continually striving to satisfy our customers and maintaining our high standards of quality, ethics, and integrity."
Kaliner was recently asked to join the board of The Institute for Economic Development (IED), a consortium of private sector corporations and non-profit institutions that is committed to the physical, economic and social revitalization of the City of Chester. In June 2010, Ernst and Young named Adam Entrepreneur of the Year, and in January 2011, SmartCEO Magazine named Power one of the 50 fastest growing companies in the Greater Philadelphia area for its phenomenal growth during the economic downturn. In both 2010 and 2011, Power was selected as the "Top Workplace" for mid-sized business from The Philadelphia Inquirer.
