Power Home Remodeling Group™ Announces Partnership With Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation
Power to donate a portion of annual sales to fund pediatric cancer research
CHESTER, Pa., April 12, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Power Home Remodeling Group, the nation's fourth largest home improvement company, has become a national corporate sponsor of Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF), one of the leading foundations for pediatric cancer, having raised more than $40 million and funded more than 150 cutting-edge research projects. Power has committed to donate one dollar per window, per square of siding and per square of roofing installed throughout the year in an effort to raise awareness of pediatric cancer within each of the markets Power offers home improvement services. In 2010, Power installed energy-saving and environmentally friendly solutions to more than 14,000 homes, totaling $132 million in sales.
"This partnership is a natural extension of Power's community-centered culture," explained co-founder and chief executive officer Jeff Kaliner. "We will distribute ALSF literature to homes up and down the East Coast to bring Alex's incredible and courageous story into the lives of our customers, hopefully growing tremendous support for the foundation in new communities."
The Power and ALSF partnership also includes additional support and initiatives:
- Power will set up Alex's Lemonade Stands at its corporate headquarters in Pennsylvania, as well as its four satellite office locations in Connecticut, New York, New Jersey and Maryland, while encouraging its 900 employees to host their own lemonade stands at home.
- In October, Power will host the first-ever "Power Run" for ALSF, scheduled to take place at Rose Tree Park in Media, Pa., becoming an annual company tradition.
- Power will donate $100 for each customer-requested referral received throughout the year.
- Power is exploring the possibility of offering an Alex's yellow colored siding later this year, with proceeds from the sale benefiting the foundation.
- Power is working on several Alex's related promotions to launch on local radio stations later in the year.
"We are so pleased to have Power Home Remodeling Group join us in the battle against childhood cancer," said Liz Scott, Alex's mom and Vice President of Outreach & Communications for ALSF. "Power is a prime example of a successful business utilizing their expertise to make a difference in the lives of children and their families facing a terrifying illness. It is through such support that Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation is able to work toward changing the future of these families and move toward a day when all kids with cancer will be cured."

About Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra "Alex" Scott (1996-2004). At the age of 4, Alex announced that she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer. Since Alex held that first stand, the Foundation bearing her name has evolved into a national fundraising movement, complete with thousands of volunteers across the country carrying on her legacy of hope. To date, Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, a registered 501(c)3 charity, has raised more than $40 million toward fulfilling Alex's dream of finding a cure, funding over 150 research projects nationally.
