PostgreSQL Community Leaders from EnterpriseDB to Present at PGConf US 2017

The event runs through March 31, 2017, at the Westin Jersey City in New Jersey.

Wednesday, March 29, at 3:50 pm
Bruce Momjian, Co-founder and Core Team member of the PostgreSQL Global Development Group, Committer for the open source project, and Senior Database Architect at EnterpriseDB, will present a talk titled MVCC Unmasked. In this advanced talk, Momjian will examine how Multi-Version Concurrency Control (MVCC) is implemented in PostgreSQL and how to optimize its use.

Thursday, March 30, at 2:00 pm, 4:30 pm, and 6:00 pm
Robert Haas, a Major Contributor and Committer for the PostgreSQL project and Vice President, Chief Architect at EnterpriseDB, will deliver a presentation titled Next-Generation Parallel Query at 2:00 pm. Haas has led the development of parallel query processing in PostgreSQL. His talk will address the features and capabilities planned for PostgreSQL 10. Haas provided a summary of features in the next release in a recent blog post, Parallel Query V2.

At 4:30 pm, Haas will deliver a keynote address titled Moving PostgreSQL Forward. He will explore the best practices the PostgreSQL community employs in developing the code base and consider how to accelerate the delivery of new features and capabilities.

At 6:00, Momjian will run a workshop, 5 Things Developers Need to Know About Digital Transformation with Postgres. The workshop, co-hosted by EnterpriseDB and IBM, will explore how developers can utilize Postgres to meet the changing requirements of applications now driving digital transformation initiatives.  

Friday, March 31, at 2:00 pm
Dave Page, member of the PostgreSQL Global Development Group Core Team and EnterpriseDB Vice President, Chief Architect, Tools and Installers, will deliver a presentation titled Evolution of pgAdmin: pgAdmin4.

In addition to his work with the PostgreSQL project, Page heads the open source project pgAdmin, the leading administration tool for open source PostgreSQL. He will cover the major overhaul of pgAdmin that resulted in the release of pgAdmin 4. The work on the release was done mainly by EnterpriseDB.
