Post® Great Grains® Celebrates Healthy Eating with an Unconventional Resolution
New Post Great Grains Snack Mixes and Granolas Embrace Nutrition You Can See in Foods You Can Recognize
PARSIPPANY, N.J., Dec. 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Rather than making New Year's resolutions to go on the latest diet, Post Great Grains is asking Americans to adopt a balanced way of eating with a focus on healthy foods in conjunction with the launch of new granola and snack mix products. According to a recent national survey, women have been on an average of nine diets in their lifetimes, yet 78 percent of women believe fad diets are not an effective way to maintain a healthy weight.[1] Great Grains, the brand known for less-processed, wholesome nutrition, is asking women to ditch fad dieting for good in 2015, and pledge to go "Fad-Free" as a New Year's resolution.

The campaign, launching on January 1, 2015, will include an online pledge available on the brand's Facebook page where Americans can resolve to go Fad-Free in 2015. For every pledge taken, Post will make a donation to the AmpleHarvest.org campaign, a non-profit aimed at diminishing hunger and malnutrition in America through education, empowering growers to share excess fruit, vegetable, and grain harvest with the needy in their communities[2].
The campaign coincides with the launch of new Great Grains – The Bar Undone Granola Snack Mixes and Great Grains Granolas. True to the brand's motto, both new products – the first non-cereal Great Grains offerings – are made with less processed ingredients for more wholesome nutrition in every handful. Each serving of Great Grains Granola Snack Mix has at least 8g of protein and 4g of fiber. One half-cup serving of New Great Grains Granola contains at least 26g of Whole Grains[3].
"At Great Grains, we believe when it comes to healthy eating, the secret is, there is no secret," said Mangala D'Sa, Brand Director for Post Great Grains. "A fad-free diet, complete with wholesome, nutritious foods such as Great Grains cereals, new Great Grains – The Bar Undone Granola Snack Mix and new Great Grains Granolas with real fruit, nuts and seeds, is key to healthy eating."
Rather than trying "this year's diet," visit Facebook.com/GreatGrains to sign the pledge to eat wholesome, delicious foods. In addition for doing something good for you, each pledge taken will translate into a three-dollar donation to the AmpleHarvest.org campaign, thereby helping to provide locally grown food to the hungry in their community[2].
"With more than 50 million of our neighbors living in food insecure homes, we are excited to help provide even more families with wholesome and nutritious food through our partnership with Post Great Grains," said Gary Oppenheimer, Founder and Executive Director of AmpleHarvest.org. "We believe all Americans deserve to have real food on the table each day, and this campaign will help AmpleHarvest.org channel more nutritious and delicious locally grown garden produce to 7,100 food pantries nationwide to help nourish these families."
In new Great Grains – The Bar Undone Granola Snack Mix, ingredients shine in their truest form, free of excess manufacturing generally used to create a granola bar.
