LOS ANGELES, March 10, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The 2015 Health Care Provider Wellness Conference, presented by the Hospital Association of Southern California (HASC), the Hospital Association of San Diego and Imperial Counties, and the Hospital Council of Northern and Central California, will focus on practical, effective ways health care providers can positively impact the health and wellness of employees and their communities.
This year's keynote speaker will be Larry S. Chapman, MPH, President and CEO of the Chapman Institute, who has developed more than 1,000 employee worksite wellness and health cost management projects in both private and public employer settings.
Two days prior to this year's conference, also taking place at the Renaissance Long Beach Hotel, Chapman will facilitate the Chapman Institute/ WellCert's wellness certification program. The Certified Wellness Program Coordinator (CWPC), or WellCert Level 1 course, covers key skills that professionals need to build a foundation for results-driven wellness programming. Participants may register for the wellness certification program, the wellness conference, or both for a bundled package rate.
Why all the focus on wellness? "Solid wellness programs truly make a positive impact on employees, employers, and therefore the entire community," said Toni Sicola, 2015 Chair, Wellness Program Manager, Alameda Health System. "What participants can expect to get out of this conference are innovative ideas that can be put to use immediately in the health care setting to make a beneficial, healthful influence on the employee base, patients, families and communities."
In addition to wellness activities and a fun walk/run, this year's program will feature breakout sessions shedding light on the latest legal issues facing employee wellness programs; how to engage a diverse workforce; stress reduction techniques; and building a culture of health, county by county.
"HASC will again proudly co-host the Health Care Provider Wellness Conference," said Teri Hollingsworth, vice president, Human Resources Services, HASC. "This year, inspirational success stories sprinkled throughout the event will show participants that their wellness dreams can in fact come true."
