WARREN, Mich., Aug. 31, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- It's the last call for a new flag! In honor of Labor Day, Art Van Furniture is reminding families to bring their worn American flags to any Art Van Furniture location across the Midwest Friday, Sept. 1, through Monday, Sept. 4, and trade it in for a complimentary new 3-by-5-foot replacement flag.
The Midwest's largest furniture and mattress retailer has collected nearly 1,500 old, torn and faded flags since its flag exchange program kicked off during Memorial Day weekend. The retired flags are respectfully disposed of in accordance with the U.S. Flag Code.
"We are tremendously humbled by the enormous response our flag exchange program has received from hard-working families across the Midwest," said Kim Yost, Art Van Furniture's president and CEO. "As we celebrate this Labor Day holiday, we remember the sacrifices American workers have made throughout our nation's history and honor their continued contribution to our country's success story."
The flags can be exchanged at all Art Van Furniture store locations from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday and 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 4.
