PopSpot Sponsors ROFLCon
PopSpot - YouTube's One-Stop Spot for All Things Pop - Sponsors the World's Biggest Event for YouTube Stars and Their Fans
CAMBRIDGE, Mass., April 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- PopSpot, the new pop culture channel on YouTube, will be aiming all of its pop on Boston, May 4th & 5th, as the main sponsor of ROFLCon (Rolling On The Floor Laughing Convention: http://roflcon.org), the first Internet conference devoted entirely to Internet memes and their stars. PopSpot will add it's own signature pop to the conference by setting up a virtual PopSpot on site where YouTube stars such as Antoine Dodson ("Hide Your Kids, Hide Your Wife"), Paul Vasquez ("Double Rainbow Guy"), Matt Harding ("Where the Hell is Matt?") and others will be given the opportunity to record an official ROFLCon video portrait, "Pop" their viral videos, meet members of the media and interact with their fans.
PopSpot is the brainchild of Eyeboogie, the creators of VH1's Pop Up Video. The PopSpot YouTube channel will feature hilarious and informative original programming, including Pop-Spot Video, in which the biggest viral videos and Stars of YouTube get "popped" with our snarky bubbles of information. YouTube Stars will also be featured in a series of biographies that document The Moment They Popped and cement the day their video popped in the pantheon of pop culture by taping an episode of Today's The Day.
PopSpot isn't just "popping" videos. Other original programming will include exclusive interviews, collaborations with YouTube Stars and curated playlists and a series of truly amazing celebrity super slo-mo videos for our Slo-As-A-Mo-Fo-Sho.
PopSpot launches April 23, with daily and weekly shows. Subscribe now to get a jump on the fun at www.YouTube.com/popspot .
