POP Strengthens Board of Directors with Tech Innovator Adriel Lares
IRVINE, Calif., Nov. 11, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- POP announced today that it has appointed tech industry leader Adriel Lares to the company's Board of Directors. Lares brings several decades of executive leadership experience to the board, with a proven track record of driving innovation across multiple industries.
Previously, Lares served as the Business Unit Leader of Hewlett-Packard's 3PAR Storage division. He joined 3PAR in 2001 and led the company from its initial product launch to its international expansion, growing the annual revenue run rate to more than $200 million. He guided the company through two private financings and oversaw 3PAR's initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange in November 2007.
Lares served as the company's public finance chief until 3PAR was acquired by Hewlett-Packard in September 2010 for $2.4 billion. Prior to 3PAR, he served as CFO of technology reseller Techfuel. He began his early career as a technology investment banker at Morgan Stanley and also worked as a treasury analyst for the Walt Disney Company.
More recently, Lares served as Chief Financial Officer of Lookout, a global leader in mobile security.
Lares joins other POP board members including Naren Gupta, co-founder and managing director of Nexus Venture Partners, which just led a $6 million Series A funding round for POP. The company's original board members include Hayes Drumwright, founder and CEO of POP, and Rajiv Gupta, co-founder and CEO of Skyhigh Networks.
"The appointment of Mr. Lares adds further depth and focused experience to the POP Board of Directors," said Drumwright. "His extensive work as a high-level finance and operations executive will be instrumental to POP as we launch a crowd-solving platform that will give executives the tools they need to operationalize enterprise engagement among internal teams, partners and customers to help drive problem solving, innovation and execution."
Lares holds a BA in Economics from Stanford University and is a partner in Memento Mori winery. He also holds a number of board positions at various charitable non profits as well as technology businesses including YuMe.
