Polyurethane insulation helps building and construction industry meet performance and sustainability goals
ATLANTA, May 14, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Efficient insulation is a key component in reducing a structure's energy consumption. Polyurethane insulation systems and technologies can help architects, specifiers, design professionals and other decision-makers meet their performance and sustainability goals.
This will be the subject of a Continuing Education (CE) presentation given by Jim Lambach, manager, building and construction industrial marketing, and Gary Gardner, AIA, CSI, LEED AP, BD&C, industrial marketing channel manager, both of Bayer MaterialScience LLC, during AIA Convention 2015. Performance and Sustainability of Polyurethane Insulation in High-performing Walls will take place 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., Friday, May 15 in Theatre B.
During the session, Lambach and Gardner will provide a comprehensive look at the performance and sustainability of polyurethane insulation, including guidance about how to incorporate vapor-impermeable wall assemblies to obtain a higher, more balanced performance.
Attendees will come away from the session with a greater understanding of:
- Overall thermal performance, wall durability and moisture resistance that can be achieved by using vapor impermeable insulation and a vapor impermeable design approach.
- The Life Cycle Assessment and the Environmental Product Declaration process as it pertains to thermal insulation materials.
- The Global Warming Potential (GWP) contribution of high-performing polyurethane wall assemblies.
In addition to attending this CE session, AIA attendees are invited to stop by Bayer's booth (#959) to learn more about the company's broad portfolio of materials and technologies for the building and construction market.
