Guests can purchase the Treat Books for $1 at all Pollo Tropical restaurants and receive coupons for three free regular fountain drinks and $2 off a Create Your Own Family Meal, all redeemable throughout November. The books are available Oct. 1-31, while supplies last, with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting the USA Swimming Foundation.
"As an island-inspired company, our restaurant family holds water safety near and dear to our hearts," said Pollo Tropical Chief Operating Officer Danny Meisenheimer. "We believe every child should have the opportunity to learn to swim, and we hope our guests will join us in supporting the USA Swimming Foundation in its mission to teach children the lifesaving skill of swimming by purchasing Treat Books at Pollo Tropical throughout October."
Pollo Tropical and the USA Swimming Foundation announced their partnership in July. In addition to raising money for the foundation through Treat Book sales, Pollo Tropical will provide food at events during the USA Swimming Foundation's Make a Splash Tour presented by Phillips 66, and at Make a Splash local partner events through Dec. 31, 2016.
"Pollo Tropical has a large and dedicated audience that cares about their health and well-being, which ties perfectly with the USA Swimming Foundation mission of saving lives through swim lessons," said USA Swimming Foundation Executive Director Debbie Hesse. "The Treat Book fundraiser is a great way to launch our partnership to help more children learn to swim."
The USA Swimming Foundation's Make a Splash initiative is the nation's pre-eminent learn-to-swim initiative, with more than 725 local partners nationwide that provide swimming lessons and educate children and their families on the importance of learning how to swim. Since 2007, more than 3.8 million children have learned the critical lifesaving skill of swimming from Make a Splash providers.
