SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 1, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Audience response system Poll Everywhere announced an integration with Moodle, the open-source learning management system (LMS). Poll Everywhere is a flexible bring-your-own-device class participation platform that displays live in PowerPoint.
The new integration streamlines the instructor's workflow. Professors and assistants can now import student rosters from Moodle at the start of the semester, and automatically create a Poll Everywhere account for each student. At the end of the semester, they can export graded responses and participation records directly to Moodle.
Corporate learning professionals can use the integration to easily import participant rosters to Poll Everywhere, and keep track of attendance and response scores.
"We built our Moodle integration to be lightweight," said Account Manager Paul Giovacchini. "It doesn't take a lot of resources to set up or administer."
Poll Everywhere now directly supports the top three learning management systems – Canvas, Blackboard, and Moodle – with more on the horizon. Moodle is unique amongst the three, in that its integration is the first to fully employ LTI 2.0 framework. Integrating with Moodle's lightweight LTI 2.0 framework is effectively "a building block that lets us integrate with other LMSs across higher education and corporate education," Giovacchini continued.
The present and future focus on LMS integration is a direct response to customer feedback. Moodle integration was the second most highly-requested feature in the Poll Everywhere suggestions forum.
"This project represents the commitment we have to educators. We want to work the way they do. Polling gets integrated into their lectures, their techniques, and their tools – not the other way around," said Brian Goodman, Project Manager at Poll Everywhere.
As with Blackboard and Canvas, Moodle integration is available to Poll Everywhere customers on select Custom or Enterprise plans. Moodle users interested in implementing at their organization can contact a Poll Everywhere support specialist to learn more.
