Political Action Arm of National Taxpayer Group Endorses 2nd Slate of Congressional Candidates for Fiscal Responsibility
ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 31, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Call them "Twenty-Three for Taxpayers" – a top-notch group of candidates for Congress who've earned coveted endorsements from National Taxpayers Union Campaign Fund (NTUCF). Today NTUCF offered these taxpayer advocates congratulations and best wishes for victory going into the home stretch weekend of the election.
"Few elections in recent memory are as critical to the fiscal future of this nation, and these serious times call for equally serious candidates ready to lead the charge for limited government," said NTUCF President Pete Sepp. "Each one of the incumbents and challengers we've endorsed can help make the urgent change of direction toward simpler, lower taxes, greater spending restraint, sustainable entitlement programs, and more economic freedom that Americans so urgently need."
NTUCF has endorsed the following candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives, in state order. Most are hoping to serve for the first time:
Arkansas 02-French Hill; Florida 26-Carlos Curbelo; Georgia 12-Rick W. Allen; Iowa 01-Rod Blum; Iowa 02-Mariannette Miller-Meeks; Iowa 03-David Young; Iowa 04-Steve King; Maine 02-Bruce Poliquin; New Hampshire 02-Marilina Garcia; New York 01-Lee Zeldin; New York 21-Elise Stefanik; Utah 04-Mia Love; Washington 01-Pedro Celis; and, West Virginia 02-Alex Mooney.
NTUCF has endorsed the following candidates for the U.S. Senate, in state order. Many are hoping to serve for the first time: Alaska-Dan Sullivan; Arkansas-Tom Cotton; Colorado-Cory Gardner; Georgia-David Perdue; Iowa-Joni Ernst; Kentucky-Mitch McConnell; Minnesota-Mike McFadden; Nebraska-Ben Sasse; and, North Carolina-Thom Tillis.
Earlier, NTUCF endorsed a slate of 36 other candidates who were incumbent House and Senate members. They earned the nod from NTUCF for their standout performances in the 113th Congress and (in the case of veteran lawmakers) their longstanding pro-taxpayer voting records. Many had received NTUCF endorsements in earlier election cycles.
Sepp concluded, "By sending these capable candidates to Washington, voters will likewise be sending a clear message that will echo throughout the Capitol during the 114th Congress: taxpayers' interests, not special interests, must come first!"
Note: NTUCF is the political action arm of the National Taxpayers Union (NTU), the nation's oldest grassroots taxpayer organization. NTU, founded in 1969, created the NTU Campaign Fund in 1994. Endorsement decisions by NTUCF require a unanimous vote on a nonpartisan basis by a four-member committee.
