PARSIPPANY, N.J., Oct. 12, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Point of Care Network (POCN) is proud to announce the winners of the 2018 America's Top Physician Assistant (ATPA) Awards. This award recognizes 10 of the top Physician Assistants (PAs) practicing today. This year's winners are as follows:

PAs are on the front lines of providing efficient and comprehensive care across all therapeutic categories. Their significant role is increasingly necessary with aging patient population that continues to grow, and continuing shortages of primary care physicians in rural parts of the country.

According to the American Association of PAs (AAPA) and the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there are currently 97,620 PAs practicing and prescribing in the U.S., and the PA workforce is expected to grow 30% by 2024. As the influence and impact of PAs continue to be crucial to the quality of care in the U.S., the time has come to celebrate their contributions.
