The prize is handed over on April 26, 2016, the World Intellectual Property Day that, according to the resolution taken in 2000 by the General Assembly of the UN World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO, Geneva), is dedicated each year to the protection of the activities and the achievements by technical creators who excel in contributing to social development and progress at a worldwide scale.
