PODS celebrates two millionth container delivery with customer appreciation and $10,000 sweepstakes
CLEARWATER, Fla., July 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- After 14 years in business, PODS® moving and storage celebrated its two millionth container delivery in June by providing one year of free storage and a free move to the recipient who resided in Valrico, Fla. As part of their continued celebration, PODS launched a $10,000 Home Renovation sweepstakes on Monday to celebrate this important milestone in the history of the company and the industry.
In 1998, PODS revolutionized the landscape of the moving and storage industry with its signature white portable PODS containers, which changed the way people would move and store forever.
"The PODS solution provided a new, more convenient and flexible way to move and store," said George Spowart, chief marketing officer of PODS. "Residential and commercial customers no longer were at the mercy of daily truck rental fees or multiple handlings of possessions by full-service movers. This new way of moving and storing revolutionized an industry."
Bob Hughes, a full service moving agency owner, was one of America's early PODS franchise owner's and saw how PODS could revolutionize the industry.
"I have been in the full service moving business for over 35 years and saw my first PODS® container in 2003. I instantly knew two things: it would revolutionize the moving and storage business and that I had to be involved," Hughes said.
The $10,000 sweepstakes ends on Oct. 15, 2012. For more information, visit Facebook.com/PODS.
