PMI® Forms Global Executive Council
—Exclusive member organization helps companies maximize success of project-related investments—
NEWTOWN SQUARE, Pa., Sept. 20 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Project Management Institute (PMI®), the world's leading project management member association, announces the formation of the PMI Global Executive Council (the Council), an entity that connects large multinational and government organizations that are using project, program and portfolio management to achieve competitive advantage. By networking with other industry-leading decision makers, Council members can identify opportunities for process improvements, exchange best practices and increase the percentage of successful project-related investments within their own organizations.
"Today's organizations, more than ever, need to ensure key projects deliver expected results. As we climb out of the global economic crisis, the need for careful management of assets has never been greater. The critical focus on strategic change, accountability, transparency, and execution all point to the need for excellence in project, program and portfolio management," said Gregory Balestrero, president and CEO of PMI. "The executives on the PMI Council, representing global market leaders, will depend on PMI to help them analyze critical research, benchmark best practices and share that data, and work on critical solutions that will enhance their companies to remain market leaders."
The organizations approved for participation in The Council are sufficiently mature and credible in their Organizational Project Management (OPM) practices; have the internal resources to dedicate to the community's support; and actively utilize and promote PMI standards, programs and services. They are also able to attend the Council's annual conference and meetings. Members will have exclusive access to PMI executives and board members during global and regional meetings and ongoing, consistent interaction with other thought leaders to influence organizational change.
For a list of current members, and to apply for membership, visit the PMI Global Executive Council web page for further information.
