PM Pediatrics Opens 16th Specialized Urgent Care Practice Today in Midwood, Brooklyn
LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y., April 13, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- PM Pediatrics, one of the nation's largest providers of specialized pediatric urgent care, serving patients from cradle through college, will open its doors today in Midwood, Brooklyn. The new PM Pediatrics location marks the second practice in Brooklyn, joining Cobble Hill, and the 16th overall in the New York Metropolitan area. The 6,000 square foot jungle themed office is located at 1273 Coney Island Avenue in Midwood. Dr. Elliott Friedman will serve as Medical Director, overseeing all medical operations for the practice. Dr. Friedman also serves as Medical Director of PM Pediatrics in Carle Place, Long Island, and is board-certified in both Pediatric Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics.
"We are excited to open our second Brooklyn practice and get to know the families and primary care physicians in the Midwood area," said Dr. Friedman. "PM Pediatrics is a trusted alternative to the hospital ER and this new opening furthers our mission to provide unparalleled specialized urgent care to children and young adults, everywhere."
PM Pediatrics of Midwood will be open 365 days a year, and feature onsite digital x-ray and lab, 11 exam rooms, and two procedure rooms. The operating hours will be Monday through Saturday from Noon to Midnight, and Sundays and select holidays from 10:00am to Midnight.
Unlike traditional urgent care practices, PM Pediatrics treats children and young adults exclusively, with physicians, nurses, equipment and an office environment all tailored to provide the best possible care for pediatric patients. Staffed by Pediatric Emergency Specialists, including board-certified pediatric emergency physicians and pediatricians, they provide care and treatment for a broad array of illness and injuries including asthma, fever and other infections, dehydration, sprains and fractures, wounds requiring stitches, and much more. All locations feature on-site digital x-ray which produces high resolution images read by a board-certified pediatric radiologist, and a comprehensive lab, which performs blood and urine tests and a variety of rapid tests for infectious diseases.
PM Pediatrics believes strongly in a child's medical home and does not offer wellness visits, physicals, school check-ups or immunizations. They take special care to send each patient's medical record to their primary care provider the day of their visit, ensuring timely follow-up and continuity of care. Each location also has access to specialists such as plastic surgeons or orthopedists, as needed. All PM Pediatrics practices are uniquely themed and feature TVs in every exam room, creating a warm, welcoming setting for kids and adults alike. This model of care, comfort and convenience has been enthusiastically received with over 650,000 patient visits to date.
