PM Pediatrics Announces Extended Hours Beginning This Fall At All Urgent Care Locations
-- Award-Winning After-Hours Urgent Care Provider For Newborns Through College To Offer Longer Hours Beginning September 9 --
LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y., Aug. 7, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- PM Pediatrics, a top provider of specialized urgent care for newborns through college, announced it will extend its operating hours this Fall. Beginning Monday, September 9, each practice, which provides walk-in after-hours urgent care for children and young adults, will feature the following new hours:
- Monday through Saturday: Noon to Midnight
- Sundays and Select Holidays: 10am to Midnight
PM Pediatrics has six convenient locations on Long Island (Syosset, Selden and North Babylon), in Westchester (Mamaroneck), Queens (Bayside) and Livingston, NJ. Two new locations in Brooklyn and North Brunswick, NJ are both set to open this Fall.
"In response to an increased demand for pediatric urgent care, we are pleased to provide additional convenient hours at all existing and future PM Pediatrics locations," said Dr. Jeffrey Schor, founder of PM Pediatrics. "Our mission is to be there when families need us most, and our research has shown a void in quality affordable urgent care just for kids, during daytime hours. We will continue to partner with the primary care physician to ensure timely and seamless communication when treating their patients in urgent situations."
Every state-of-the-art PM Pediatrics location is staffed by Pediatric Emergency Specialists, including Board-Certified pediatricians and pediatric emergency physicians, who provide care and treatment for a broad array of illness and injuries including asthma, fever and other infections, dehydration, sprains and fractures, wounds requiring stitches and much more. Each office has on-site digital x-ray which produces high resolution images read by a board-certified radiologist, and sent easily to a patient's primary care physician or orthopedist. Additionally, the practices feature a comprehensive laboratory on-site, which performs rapid blood, urine and chemistry workups.
Unlike most traditional urgent care practices, PM Pediatrics specializes in treating children and young adults only. They believe strongly in a child's medical home and do not offer wellness visits, physicals, school check-ups or immunizations. PM Pediatrics takes special care to send each patient's medical record to their primary care provider the day of their visit, ensuring timely follow-up and continuity of care. Each location also has access to specialists such as plastic surgeons or orthopedists, as needed. All PM Pediatrics offices are uniquely themed and feature TVs in every exam room, creating a warm, welcoming environment for kids and adults alike. This model of care, comfort and convenience has been enthusiastically received with over 375,000 patient visits to date.
