MONTREAL, Oct. 1, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Travel technology company Plusgrade today issued the following statement in response to a patent infringement lawsuit filed by Optiontown LLC and the company's owner Tenon & Groove, LLC, against Plusgrade. The action was filed September 10, 2012 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware.
"After extensive review of the complaint, we are confident that this lawsuit is without merit and we will vigorously defend the superior platform and services for which Plusgrade is known. We believe this claim is an attempt by Optiontown to gain a competitive edge through litigation rather than competing effectively in the marketplace," said Ken Harris, Plusgrade founder and CEO.
Plusgrade was launched in 2009 with the mission of helping airlines generate new ancillary revenue streams and deliver first-class customer experiences through targeted upsell opportunities. Plusgrade's technology was built from the ground up by a talented team of industry veterans who have extensive experience with the sale of distressed inventory. The Plusgrade platform delivers its extraordinary results using methods that differ vastly from those referenced in the complaint.
"It is business as usual at Plusgrade. We remain fully committed to our current and future airline partners and to delivering the sustained results that have fueled our steady growth," said Harris. "Our legal counsel will handle this matter in due course, while we continue to focus on creating and offering best-of-breed products and delivering world-class customer service to our airline partners."
