Vital User Data Safeguarded by PlumChoice SAFElink™ Anti-Theft Service and Intel® Anti-Theft Technology
BILLERICA, Mass., Sept. 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- PlumChoice, a pioneer in the delivery of remote technical services in the next-generation Service 2.0 model, today announced it will demonstrate its enhanced SAFElink™ Anti-Theft service with Intel® Anti-Theft Technology (Intel® AT) at the upcoming Intel Developer Forum. The event takes place at the Moscone Center in San Francisco from September 13 to September 15. The demonstration will take place at booth # 389.
As one of SAFElink's security services, the SAFElink Anti-Theft Service protects the valuable data stored on a subscriber's laptop or notebook against theft or loss. The SAFElink Anti-Theft application locks down a device when theft trigger events such as multiple login failures, anti-theft server check in failure, and poison pill delivery from the server occur. Adding support for Intel AT enables the PlumChoice SAFElink Anti-Theft Service to also lock down a device if the hardware is tampered with. Transparent to the subscriber at installation this capability strengthens the security of the subscriber's data.
The PlumChoice SAFElink Anti-Theft service with Intel Anti-Theft Technology is built on the PlumChoice patented SAFElink platform and can be combined with other PlumChoice services. PlumChoice also provides premium service through its qualified IT certified technicians to support the new security service. With its entire service portfolio, PlumChoice enables large channel partners such as ISPs, wireless carriers, device manufacturers, retailers, independent software manufacturers and extended warranty providers to launch, manage and grow their premium service businesses. PlumChoice enables its partners to achieve previously unattainable levels of customer satisfaction with a centralized, remote technical support solution for homes, home offices and small businesses. SAFElink, designed for the integration and transaction management of subscriptions and point products, manages key facets of delivery such as entitlement, billing, fulfillment and quality.
"The market clearly needs enhanced data security for mobile devices and we are very pleased to bring this innovative consumer and SMB solution to market with Intel," said Ted Werth, Chief Executive Officer for PlumChoice.
"Telcos are fast becoming a major touch point into SMBs and they are beginning to offer differentiated services along with broadband," said George Thangadurai, General Manager of Intel's PC Client Services Division. "With the Intel® Anti-Theft Technology our SAFElink Anti-Theft Service offering strengthens the protection we offer consumers and creates new, enhanced revenue opportunities for channel partners," said Josh Goldlust, Vice President, Product Management & Marketing for PlumChoice.
