WASHINGTON, June 26, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Plexxi, a pioneer of hyperconverged networking (HCN), today announced enhanced network integration with the Nutanix Enterprise Cloud Platform. Plexxi, a Nutanix Elevate Partner and Gold Sponsor of this week's Nutanix .NEXT Conference in Washington, D.C., will demonstrate the power and agility of its hyperconverged network fabric to provide Nutanix customers with a single, scalable network that easily integrates with Nutanix. In conjunction with the latest release of its Plexxi Control and Plexxi Connect software, Plexxi has introduced major new capabilities to its Nutanix Integration Pack that enhance Plexxi's integration with Nutanix HCI, making Plexxi HCN "Nutanix Aware."
"Plexxi's awareness of Nutanix is a powerful attribute that enables Plexxi HCN to automate network configuration and management, all based on the characteristics of the Nutanix environment," said Rick Gordon, President and CEO of Plexxi Partner, AE Business Solutions. "This awareness fosters network management automation, which is key to reducing infrastructure cost and complexity for our customers."
As a network under software control, Plexxi integrates with Nutanix at the API level through Plexxi's Connect Software and Nutanix Integration Pack. This integration enables Plexxi HCN to harvest information about the Nutanix infrastructure, automatically discovering information about the HCI cluster, including: hypervisors (VMware ESXi or AHV), associated VMs, and individual cluster nodes. Based on this awareness, Plexxi HCN is able to recognize and automatically respond to specific Nutanix events, like the movement of a VM or addition of a new Nutanix node.
Plexxi's awareness also includes understanding the criticality of certain HCI workloads, like the Nutanix Controller Virtual Machine (CVM), and in turn isolating that workload traffic to guarantee that performance is not impacted by other workloads on the network. The Plexxi software also builds a graphical representation of the network topology within Nutanix Prism, and displays its state and status for quick and simple analysis of the network. All of this is done automatically through the Plexxi Connect Integration Pack for Nutanix.
"Our software and integration packs enable the network to identify and respond to infrastructure events automatically and in real-time," said Rich Napolitano, CEO of Plexxi. "No one in the industry comes close to offering the level of integration and infrastructure awareness needed to simplify configuration and ongoing management. This capability underscores the value proposition of 'zero-touch' management, which is a goal everyone in the industry shares."
Plexxi is a Nutanix Elevate Partner and Gold Sponsor for this year's Nutanix .NEXT event. Mat Mathews, Plexxi Co-Founder and Vice President of Product Management, will be a featured speaker at the event and Mat and the Plexxi team will be available to provide a first-hand, live demonstration of Plexxi's powerful integration capabilities for Nutanix. Please stop by the Plexxi booth, G9, at the Nutanix .NEXT Conference being held June 28-30 at the Gaylord National Hotel in Washington, D.C.
