Playfab Hosting Seattle Game Jam Competition To Bring Region's Game Developers Together
Upcoming October Event To Draw More than One Hundred Local Students and Games Industry Professionals for Three Days of Jam-Packed Game Development in Seattle

Seattle-based game development technology company, PlayFab, is hosting a Seattle Game Jam the weekend of Friday, October 9 – Sunday, October 11. Taking place at SURF Incubator, more than one hundred game developers from throughout the region are expected to participate in the friendly competition – pitting teams of game developers, designers, industry professionals and students against each other to create the most interesting and engaging game possible over a short three-day period. Game devs of all experience levels are encouraged to take part in the jam-packed weekend, which will bring together industry professionals from a variety of backgrounds from indie studios to major developers. Under the theme "It's Alive," the event will have a special emphasis on creating online and cross-platform games. Free to participate, attendees will have a chance at taking home more than $500 in prizes, and bragging rights for a judges' and peoples' choice award as well as a special students' award for outstanding work from up and coming developers. With the local games industry now employing more than 17,000 people in Washington, PlayFab is celebrating a group of professionals that help pump more than $36 billion into the local economy.
