PlateSmart® Launches Innovative Software Developer's Kit (SDK) for Third-Party License Plate Recognition (LPR) Integration
OLDSMAR, Fla., April 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- PlateSmart® Technologies has announced it will now offer a unique Software Developer's Kit (SDK) which allows for a seamless integration between PlateSmart's® software-only License Plate Recognition (LPR) Technology and any existing video security system. The new SDK will handle the extraction and storage of LPR data from video footage and will not require proprietary hardware/software packages to function.
PlateSmart's® SDK provides an LPR portal for any video security system ranging from the smallest surveillance network to the largest and most sophisticated Video Management System (VMS) on the market. It can work seamlessly with third-party systems and function with open-standard, "off-the-shelf" security cameras. The unique flexibility of PlateSmart's® SDK will allow any manufacturer of VMS and access control systems to offer LPR as a standard feature of their products with an easily integrated PlateSmart ® LPR engine built in.
"As the demand for LPR continues to increase, we are pleased to offer this new SDK," said John Chigos, PlateSmart® founder and CEO. "Our software-only LPR technology continues to be the most flexible, efficient and affordable solution in the physical security industry."
In addition, PlateSmart® will also be launching a new VMS/Access Control integration partner program which will allow the company to work closely with manufacturers to incorporate LPR into their products and expand the adoption of the technology as a new standard feature.
Interested VMS and Access Control manufacturers will receive access to the SDK upon approval to join the PlateSmart integration partner program.
PlateSmart® is manufactured exclusively by Cyclops Technologies, Inc., a privately owned company located in Oldsmar, Florida that was incorporated in 2004.
