Planning A Central Florida Vacation In May? Don't Miss Ironman 70.3 Florida
Ironman 70.3 Florida is one of most popular events for athletes. If you're looking for things to do in Central Florida, don't miss the event on May 20, 2012 at Lake Eva Park, conveniently located near many Central Florida attractions.
POLK COUNTY, Fla., May 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Ironman 70.3 Florida has a new venue this year. On May 20, 2012, this annual event will take place at Lake Eva Park, in Haines City, Florida.
Still just minutes from popular Central Florida attractions, the Lake Eva Park route starts with a 1.2 mile fresh-water swim, followed by a 56-mile bike route that goes right by Bok Tower Gardens, considered by many a "Must See" on the list of things to do in Central Florida. Runners will then finish with a 13.1-mile course around Lake Eva Park.
"It's always a challenge to change locations when an event as well-known as Ironman 70.3 Florida moves from a destination like Walt Disney World. The new world class route will pose a challenge for all athletes, including seven-time Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong, who is competing as a member of Team LIVESTRONG," said Mark Jackson, Tourism Director for the Central Florida Visitors and Convention Bureau.
For athletes planning to incorporate the competition into their Central Florida vacation, Lake Eva Park and Haines City offer easy access to all of the major Central Florida attractions.
