Plainfield Precision Awarded Contract to Manufacture Caps and Straws for Flexible Packaging Leader Cheer Pack

PLYMOUTH, Mass., June 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Plainfield Precision is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a contract to manufacture caps and straws for innovative flexible pouch packaging provider, Cheer Pack North America.

Plainfield Precision has invested in 6 high-speed, electric Toshiba presses to meet the demand for 45 Million units per month while also converting 7,000 square feet of production floor space to FDA clean room standards.

The Cheer Pack pouch is made up of three parts: straw, cap, film. Each part requires unique specialized equipment to ensure quality and a secure product. Cheer Pack combines all of the critical components described above to deliver a package that meets or exceeds customers' demands.  The large patented cap was specifically designed to alleviate any concerns of a choking hazard. The 32mm diameter will not pass through a small parts testing tube (the "choke tube"; CPSC standard for toys).  The straw is injection molded with precise proven technology. The straw includes critical dimensions required to ensure sealing integrity and the correct cap torque with a tamper evident feature.
