Mr. Thompson brings nearly 20 years of experience working in the advertising, branding and digital marketing and has a strong reputation for developing and leading teams on both the client and agency side. At PlaceIQ, Mr. Thompson will be working with CEO Duncan McCall and the executive team to continually define and refine the organization's go-to-market strategy, product roadmap, and strategic plan. He will communicate extensively with key clients, business partners and external stakeholders to drive strategic planning and guidance for emerging opportunities across PlaceIQ's business. Derek will have direct oversight of the strategy development team.

Derek earned his MBA from the University of Notre Dame and has held several brand strategy positions with noteworthy companies including Motorola, Apple, and Unilever.

The addition of Mr. Thompson comes on the heels of the announcement of Ed Haslam as SVP of Marketing and Dr. Phil London as SVP of Product and Technology at PlaceIQ.
