54% of respondents and 31% of Democrats support the movement
EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Aug. 4 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Tea Party TV, which covers all things Tea Party and is produced by PJTV, today unveiled its weekly Tea Party tracking poll, adding a research component to its coverage. The PJTV/Pulse Opinion Research nationwide survey of 1,000 likely voters revealed that 54 percent of respondents support the Tea Party movement and 48 percent would vote for a candidate who is supported by the Tea Party movement, as opposed to 39 percent who would not.
"The Tea Party is a fascinating phenomenon that can only happen in American politics," said Roger L. Simon, CEO of Pajamas Media. "Inspired by the actions of our Founding Fathers, members of the Tea Party movement have circumvented the Mainstream Media and have taken their grievances directly to the people. As we approach the upcoming election, the Tea Party's influence is yet unknown, but by tracking and reporting nationwide attitudes toward the movement, we hope to better calculate the strength and power of this truly American movement."
The study will both track attitudes toward the Tea Party as well as take a weekly snapshot of varying top issues regarding the movement. Additionally, Tea Party TV is launching a corresponding show featuring Vik Rubenfeld, a 20-year veteran to the polling and market research industry and founder of Rubenfeld Research Associates. The weekly video will offer viewers a brief, yet in-depth, analysis of the polling results, observing trends, singularities and interesting nuggets of information. The full crosstabs will be made available to PJTV subscribers, as well.
