"As summer wraps, kids head back to school, and football season begins, Pizza Hut knows that pizza is an easy and fun dinner option for families and fans this time of year," said Zipporah Allen, Vice President of Marketing, Pizza Hut. "With National Cheese Pizza Day and our 50 percent off online flash sale, Pizza Hut is offering fans a needed and affordable treat to ease into the busy fall season."
The origin of National Cheese Pizza Day is unknown, but as many as 350 slices of pizza are eaten every second in the U.S., so it is no wonder such a tasty holiday exists. Pizza Hut produces more cheese for its pizzas than any other pizza company, and not surprisingly, cheese pizza was on the original Pizza Hut menu in 1958.
"Pizza Hut has a long-standing love affair with cheese, ranging from our traditional cheese pizza to stuffed crust to all of the other cheesy pizza innovations through the years," said Allen. "It's only appropriate that we celebrate and honor National Cheese Pizza Day!"
New this year on National Cheese Pizza Day will be the ability of Pizza Hut fans to earn points toward free pizza for their order as members of Hut Rewards, the only national pizza loyalty program that rewards customers unlimited points for every dollar spent on great-tasting food online. The points-based program rewards two points for every one dollar spent online on food, which can be applied toward a Medium ANY™ Pizza (any recipe, any toppings) for 200 points; or a Large ANY™ Pizza (any recipe, any toppings) for 250 points. Now through Oct. 1, Pizza Hut is offering double points on all Pizza Hut food purchased online.
Hut Rewards is open to US residents age 13+. For details on how to create your own Hut Rewards profile, and to learn more about Pizza Hut, visit Blog.PizzaHut.com or head to www.PizzaHut.com to order now.
The National Cheese Pizza Day and 50 percent off pizzas deal are available for pizza orders placed through online ordering systems for carryout or delivery. Discount does not apply to other menu items, tax, delivery charge, or driver tip. The flash sale cannot be combined with the SAYCHEESE deal on Sept. 5.
