Pizza Hut to Host Fundraising Event to Benefit the United Way Tornado Relief Efforts in Alabama
BIRMINGHAM, Ala., May 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- To help support tornado relief efforts in Alabama, Pizza Hut restaurants throughout the state will host a fundraising event Thursday, May 12, from open to close. For all dine-in, carryout and delivery orders on this day, 15 percent of sales will go to benefit the United Way to assist the victims of the impacted communities. Every Pizza Hut restaurant in Alabama will participate in the event.
After witnessing firsthand the lives, homes and businesses that were devastated by the tornadoes that hit the state last month, Pizza Hut owners, operators and employees knew they had to do something to help. "Through this fundraiser, we can hopefully make a difference for our neighbors affected by the storms and provide our customers with an opportunity to help contribute to the relief efforts," says Tom White, South Territory Vice President of NPC International, Inc. (dba Pizza Hut).
Getting involved in the event is easy. Simply place an order at any Pizza Hut restaurant in Alabama on Thursday, May 12, and 15 percent of your bill – whether you dine in or eat at home – will go toward the donation to the United Way.
"We are incredibly grateful that so many Pizza Hut employees have already gotten behind this event and thank those in the community who plan to participate," says White.
