Pivot3 Hyperconverged Solutions Achieve Top Technology and Innovation Honors
AUSTIN, Texas, Dec. 7, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Pivot3, the technology leader of hyperconverged infrastructure solutions, today announced that it has received three innovation awards from leading industry publications for its hyperconverged platforms.
The Pivot3 Edge Protect solution has been selected as a Top 30 Technology Innovation award winner by the editorial team at Security Sales & Integration. The converged server and storage solution was selected based on its ability to allow systems integrators to deliver the benefits of hyperconverged infrastructure to small- to medium-sized enterprises and distributed environments.
Pivot3's Virtual Security Server (VSS) achieved the Platinum Award as Best Mobile Technology Software Product in the 2016 Homeland Security Awards, presented by American Security Today. Edge Protect was also awarded a Gold-Level Award as Best Video Data Storage Solution in the same program, which honors technologies that help government entities reduce risk and ensure operational efficiencies.
Edge Protect provides high-performance storage and server infrastructure for up to 200 video surveillance cameras, at a price point competitive with direct attached storage (DAS) typically deployed in mid-sized NVR applications. Edge Protect's architecture ensures storage is accessible by all cameras regardless of physical location. With built-in server failover, video management and recording functionality is protected during hardware failures, a highly sought after feature typically only found in large, complex surveillance applications.
VSS delivers power and flexibility for global security operations centers. By consolidating VMS hosting, security and business applications, and client workstations into a centralized platform, VSS enables flexible delivery of anytime, anywhere monitoring, on any device. This approach reduces the need to invest in expensive, graphics-enabled PCs. VSS supports up to 40 simultaneous, 30fps HD video streams from a single appliance without performance degradation.
"We're thrilled to be honored amongst the market's top technology innovators. This recognition validates the impact that we make by bringing hyperconvergence benefits to the security and surveillance markets," said Brandon Reich, Senior Director of Surveillance Solutions, Pivot3. "Video is a mission-critical application. Today's modern, high-definition IP video surveillance systems generate massive amounts of critical, sensitive data, and capturing, protecting and mobilizing this data is paramount. Pivot3 focuses on protecting our customer's investments while simplifying data management, reducing costs and allowing stakeholders to realize more efficient operations."
