SEATTLE, Aug. 24, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- PitchBook, the premier data provider for the private and public equity markets, today announced it has been named one of the Best Workplaces in Washington by the Puget Sound Business Journal in the category of businesses with over 250 employees. To generate this list, the Journal administers employee surveys across four size categories and ranks the top 25 companies in each category based on employee satisfaction scores. Out of hundreds of nominations, PitchBook ranked 14 out of 25 in this year's list and a four-time Best Workplace winner.
"At PitchBook, our workplace culture is something we're deliberate about maintaining – especially as we continue to grow," said John Gabbert, founder and CEO of PitchBook. "This award in particular is a tremendous honor because it's based solely on employee feedback. Our people are what makes PitchBook such a great place to work and we look forward to continue investing in our culture to ensure PitchBook remains a great workplace for years to come."
Following its acquisition by Morningstar in December 2016, PitchBook has continued to grow from a revenue and workforce standpoint, while maintaining high levels of employee engagement as exemplified by the Puget Sound Business Journal's annual list. This honor comes on the heels of a record year for PitchBook, having grown from just over 600 employees globally in 2017 to 908 today, which led to an expansion in both PitchBook's Seattle and New York offices. With a 60% year-over-year compound annual growth rate since 2009, the company is a leading source of private capital market data, serving more than 18,000 users today, up from 11,000 at the end of 2017. PitchBook will continue to prioritize its people and culture through various HR initiatives, including a leadership development program, inspiring speaker series and other office perks.
The Best Workplaces score factors in 30 items across six categories including communication and resources, trust in leadership, team dynamics, personal engagement and more. Companies that made the List had the highest composite scores in an employee survey administered by Quantum Workplaces on behalf of the Puget Sound Business Journal. PitchBook has been named a Best Workplace in Washington in 2014, 2015, 2017 and now 2018. Companies that made the esteemed list were honored during a special ceremony at Seattle Mariners Safeco Field on August 16.
