LOS ANGELES, May 4, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Cuban-American music sensation Pitbull invites listeners to discover the new world of sounds he created for Planet Pit, the hit-maker's sixth album. Available on June 21, the new album unites Pit's rapid-fire rhymes and billion-dollar beats with musical influences from around the world to create a one-of-a-kind sound.
His experiences growing up in Miami combined with his recent global success influenced the album's rich mix of styles, says Pitbull, whose given name is Armando Christian Perez. "It embodies a bit of everywhere I've been," he says referring to his recent globe-spanning tours. "I'm trying to be the ambassador; the bridge builder who brings elements from all over the world and puts it all together so it sounds like nothing you've ever heard before."
Pitbull teams with Ne-Yo, Afrojack and Nayer for the new single from Planet Pit, "Give Me Everything." Already climbing the charts, the song is poised to pick up where Pit's multi-platinum smash hits "I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)," "Hotel Room Service" and "Hey Baby (Drop It To The Floor)" left off. Like the star-studded single, the album is filled with pop music luminaries such as Marc Anthony ("Rain Over Me"), Chris Brown ("International Love"), and Kelly Rowland ("Castles Made of Sand").
To give Planet Pit its edge, Pit surrounds himself with many of today's hottest artists, including appearances by T-Pain and Sean Paul. To blend the album's diverse sounds into a seamless flow, Pit tapped top producers like David Guetta, Afrojack ("Something 4 The DJ's"), RedOne, Polow Da Don and DJ Frank E. In fact, Pitbull's "Come & Go" marks the first time ever that super-producers Dr. Luke, Benny Blanco and Max Martin worked together with Pit.
Pitbull's just off a wave of featured smash hits with Usher's "DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love," Enrique Iglesias' "I Like It" and the Jennifer Lopez current mega single "On The Floor." He will promote Planet Pit this spring with several high-profile television appearances along with a number of concerts. Known for his electrifying performances, Pit fuses his fierce rhymes, sizzling pop hooks and swaggering stage presence with the raw energy of a live band to create a spontaneous atmosphere. "When the congas are pounding and the bass is thumping behind me," says Pitbull "nothing can touch me."
Even with the new album and upcoming concerts, Pitbull still found time to introduce Voli, his own line of premium, low-calorie vodka and a partnership with Sheets, the dissolvable energy strip. The entrepreneurial ventures are the latest for Pitbull, who also successfully launched his own Polo Grounds Music/J Records imprint (Mr. 305 Records) and inked major sponsorship deals with blue-chip brands Kodak, Dr. Pepper Bud Light and is now ready to introduce the planet to Mr. Worldwide.
