Pioneer Services makes a difference during the holidays
Donations, volunteerism, and more celebrate the season
KANSAS CITY, Mo., Dec. 23, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- At Pioneer Services, a division of MidCountry Bank, giving back has been part of the company's culture since it was founded in 1932. These efforts get kicked into high gear during the holiday season and this year was no different, as teams from across the company gave back in numerous and immeasurable ways.
- Seasoned Greetings "Voucher" Program—This program provides $25 gift cards to military families in need, helping them purchase a holiday turkey, gifts, or other goods. More than 100 families will receive assistance this year, and the company has provided more than $100,000 in holiday vouchers in the past decade.
- Win-Win Giveaway—A unique promotion that featured four winners of $500 and one recipient of a $2,000 grand prize. The winners also got to choose from a list of military-related charities, and a donation in the same amount was made in the winner's name by Pioneer Services, leading to $4,000 being donated to Patriot Paws and Homes for Our Troops.
- Fisher House Holiday Donation—The company made a donation to the Fisher House Foundation, which provides free lodging to military families near medical facilities.
- HolidaySpendingPlanner.org—This free website helps service members spend smart and keep within their budgets thanks to customizable wish lists, a holiday spending calculator, helpful shopping links, and other tips.
- Giving back—Teams from across the company raised funds to "adopt" 45 families for the holidays, while dozens used their paid volunteer time off benefit to give back to groups such as Habitat for Humanity, Operation Breakthrough, and Stand Down for homeless veterans.
"Compassion is one of our corporate values, and our team members have truly embodied that value this year," said Steve Meads, President of Pioneer Services. "From wrapping and delivering gifts to children on military bases, to assisting homeless veterans, we are always looking for ways to make a difference for military families."
