Pioneer Services donates holiday gift cards to military families
'Seasoned Greetings' program has provided $100,000 to those in need
KANSAS CITY, Mo., Nov. 24, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The holidays are supposed to be a time of celebration and cheer. But for some military families, financial difficulties can make that cheer hard to create. To help military families in need, Pioneer Services, a division of MidCountry Bank, is offering its annual "Seasoned Greetings" program during the months of November and December, helping service members purchase a holiday turkey or other goods for the season.
Over the next several weeks, Pioneer Services offices across the country will be distributing $25.00 gift vouchers in various ways, whether at an office location or through local military groups and events. In the Lakewood, Wash., office serving Joint Base Lewis-McChord for example, they were distributed during the annual Turkey Drop on Nov. 23, and will be given away at the Ham Grenade event on Dec. 18, both of which are held by the local Association of the United States Army chapter. Vouchers are also being distributed to national commands, including the Military District of Washington and the 3rd Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard).
"Pioneer Services gives back to the military community all year, but we always find ways to do more during the holidays," said Graham Moyer, chief business development officer for Pioneer Services. "We've offered the popular Seasoned Greetings program for several years now, having provided more than $100,000 in gift vouchers and cards to military families to purchase a holiday meal, a gift, or whatever else they need. After all, given how much they have sacrificed for our nation, it is only right that we give a little something extra back to them."
