Pioneer chooses NAVTEQ® Maps to power aftermarket systems
Nokia Location & Commerce also to handle global map update distribution
CHICAGO, Sept. 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Nokia today announced that its Location & Commerce business is not only supplying NAVTEQ® Maps for Pioneer aftermarket navigation systems, but also handling the associated North American and European map update distribution for Pioneer. This major aftermarket brand joins a recent stream of leading OEMs choosing to offer drivers a superior navigation experience through automotive grade, high precision NAVTEQ® Map data.
With content at its heart, the Nokia Location Platform is a comprehensive 'Where Ecosystem' designed to help a cross section of industry customers develop premium location based applications. Part of the services portfolio focuses on support ranging from project management and marketing to logistics, ecommerce - and complete consumer care. The map update programme for Pioneer will include sales and product support, distribution as well as returns handling.
