NEW YORK, April 19, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --
The Story
Just in time for Mother's Day, Isabel and Ruben Toledo have conjured up, "Pink Putti," a potent symbol of the nurturing power of love. Celebrating the innocence and sweetness of life, the audaciously hypnotic scent honors the birth of creation itself. In the world of classical art, the word, Putti, references mythical winged infants that were believed to influence the lives and loves of mortals, just what every woman needs looking over her. Falling under the timeless spell of the color pink, the Toledos pay homage to the universal allure of this magical pigment in all of its variations. The shade selected was inspired by the majestic pink marble columns of the Trianon at Versailles Palace, the fabled pink house of Christian Dior and Aristotle Onassis, and the artistic (and romantic) studios of Frida Khalo and Diego Rivera. Pink Putti personifies the duality of strength and gentleness.
Isabel Toledo says, "I am channeling all of the powerful women in my life, especially my mother who mastered the dual qualities of strength and gentleness. We celebrate the sensuality of womanhood which does not fade with motherhood."
The Collection
Pink Putti is the newest addition to the Hot House Beauties, a magical world of scent and sensations created by artist/ designers Isabel and Ruben Toledo. They envisioned a place where artistry meets the joy of life culminating in an olfactory journey that is effervescent, romantic and remarkably timeless. This vision first came to life with the birth of two botanical characters, Kuba Rose (a floral, fruity gourmand created for lovers) and the fun loving social scent, Crystal Honey (a floral, fruity musk). The deeply personal fragrances are joyful, vibrant aromatic expressions and a true declaration of the love and synergy that Isabel and Ruben share. These botanical fairies live in a world filled with art and couture that constantly cross pollinate and cultivate new blooms. Now, the celebration continues with the introduction of Hot House Beauties resident love guru: Pink Putti.
The Fragrance
Imagined by the Toledos, and developed with world renowned Swiss fragrance house, Givaudan, the scent is categorized as a Fruity, Floral Oriental. Both teams worked closely to create a scent that is both pure and intense. Pink Putti is hypnotic with an initial burst of Pink Dragonfruit. She has an understated audacity that meets innocence and exudes an addictive floral essence that embodies an ultra-feminine and powerful Toledo woman. Embellished with Cuba's national flower, White Mariposa, the overall effect is incomparably sensual and alluring as tantalizing as the first fresh nectar from spring's early blooms.

The Partnership
The Toledos were proud to continue their partnership with Lane Bryant, a brand that is changing the retail landscape by offering customers access to a new level of quality and sophisticated design. Marking a series of firsts, Hot House Beauties was both the Toledos and Lane Bryant's first foray into the world of designer fragrance and, it follows the debut of the Isabel Toledo for Lane Bryant fashion collection, the first ever designer collaboration for Lane Bryant. This trail-blazing, inaugural fashion collection was not only a revolutionary moment for the brand, but for the women's fashion industry at large, as this marks the first time a her size retailer has brought runway-inspired fashion to this customer. Isabel and Ruben felt strongly about launching their fragrances with a retailer who understands their design concept and has been so supportive of their creative vision.
Lane Bryant's CEO Linda Heasley says, "We are thrilled to work with Isabel and Ruben Toledo on the continuation of our first-ever fragrance collaboration for Lane Bryant—and with such a special fragrance just in time for Mother's Day. The Toledos mounted their first exhibition at The Museum at FIT in 1997 titled Toledo Toledo – A Marriage of Art and Fashion, accompanied by a book by the same name. In 2005 the Toledo studio received The Cooper Hewitt National Design Award for their work in fashion. The same year Isabel Toledo received the prestigious Couture Council Award for Artistry in Fashion. The husband and wife collaborative work was once again the subject of both an exhibition and a Yale University Press publication titled "Fashion From the Inside Out" in 2009. In a moment of great significance, Isabel Toledo became a household name when first lady Michelle Obama wore Toledos iconic Lemon Grass lace ensemble to the historic presidential inauguration ceremony of her husband Barack Obama. The company is celebrating its 32 year anniversary as an independent design house which has always produced and sold everything with an Isabel Toledo label at their midtown studio headquarters in Manhattan's Tin Pan Alley.
