Pink Power Mom Program Celebrates Sixth Annual Moms
Eight Moms Selected from Record Number of Submissions
ATLANTA, Jan. 28, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- In its sixth annual contest, the Pink Power Mom program is once again honoring eight women for their strength, community outreach and inspirational fight against breast cancer. All survivors, these recently selected moms are united with one mission to make a difference in the lives of others going through similar experiences.
This year marked the largest contest in the program's history with more than 375 submissions from across the nation coming in during the month of October. Those submissions highlighted 300 moms who are all impacting their communities in many ways. This year moms were even able to tell their own stories and bring awareness about their individual charities with the first-ever self-nominations. Family and friends also submitted inspirational stories of mothers who have survived breast cancer and continued to be a role model to her family and community.
Each of the 375+ stories were closely read and reviewed by the inaugural Pink Power Mom steering committee comprised of Pink Power Moms from the last five years. Though difficult to narrow down these powerful stories eight moms stood out and were chosen as the sixth annual Pink Power Moms.
The 2012/2013 Pink Power Mom winners, along with their charities include:
Tammy Goodman (West Hamlin, WV), Team Toni
Doreen Grant (Ft. Lauderdale, FL), International Health Care Initiative

The Pink Power Mom Program has honored 48 women in the last six years, and created a mission to reflect the needs of women and families across the nation fighting against breast cancer. Established under the Kids II Foundation, the program has seen monumental growth this year including, the first-ever Executive Director, a six-member steering committee to help drive the program's initiatives and more educational resources for moms who are looking to create their own non-profit organization.
The Kids II Foundation, created in 2006 by Kids II employees to empower the entire organization to positively make a difference, has seen the Pink Power Mom program grow into its own unique entity focusing primarily on woman battling breast cancer within local communities.
