Pingup Expands Publisher Network with YP
Pingup Expands Publisher Network to Connect Local Service Businesses with 250 Million Monthly Local Searches*
BOSTON, Feb. 17, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Pingup, the nation's largest scheduling aggregation platform, today announced a deal with YP, a leading local marketing solutions provider and the #2 local search destination in the U.S.** This deal with YP expands Pingup's publisher network and helps users that want to shorten the time between searching for a local business and making an appointment. YP will be the first local search publisher to offer Pingup's real-time, in-context appointment scheduling capability across desktop, mobile and app.
Pingup's technology allows the appointment to show up within the businesses' scheduling system thus completing the consumer's task and closing the commerce loop within seconds. This integration will provide local merchants on YP the opportunity to increase business 24/7, whenever consumers are searching, even outside of open business hours.
Consumers live in an on-demand world and expect to go from search to purchase with the click of a button. Pingup aggregates 55,000 US businesses, more than double OpenTable's 27,000 in the U.S.* Pingup manages the complex data normalization and gives publishers easy access to this fragmented marketplace with a simple API integration.
"YP is passionate about driving local commerce by helping nearly 70 million people a month find and connect with local businesses, conveniently and efficiently," said Stu MacFarlane, EVP of Consumer Platforms at YP. "Our integration with Pingup will be one more way that YP provides an enhanced experience to our users and allows them to do more within the YP experience."
As early as next month, consumers searching on YP.com or within the YPSM app for local businesses, such as a salon or physical therapist, will be able to view real-time availability of the business for appointment timeslots and immediately book an appointment while staying on the YP business listing pages.
"The local services economy is $2.5 trillion - five times that of e-commerce. Consumers expect to book services with the same ease as purchasing products on Amazon," said Mark Slater, CEO at Pingup. "Pingup is the only company that provides a bridge between publishers like YP that are committed to helping people with seamless task completion and thousands of local merchants with multiple different scheduling software providers."
