Pilot brings free editorial services to developing-world researchers
DURHAM, N.C., March 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Around 260 researchers in the developing world will have the opportunity for free editorial services thanks to a new pilot partnership between academic communications company, Research Square, and AuthorAID, which is an international-development charity INASP's project to support developing-world researchers to publish and communicate their research.
The latest partnership between AuthorAID and Research Square's AJE editing service will see selected participants of AuthorAID research-writing training workshops during 2014 offered free editing support for one paper during 2015.
Research Square began supporting INASP's AuthorAID project in 2008 with an offer of a discount on AJE editing services to AuthorAID members. In 2012 the company provided a donation that AuthorAID used towards the project's workshop grants. The latest partnership uses Research Square's expertise in field-specific English language editing to provide AuthorAID workshop participants with the AJE Standard Editing service for one research manuscript at no charge.
"We are fortunate to work closely with AuthorAID again this year to help hundreds of researchers succeed in communicating their work," said Shashi Mudunuri, CEO of Research Square. "Scientific progress happens fastest when people all over the world can contribute to their fields. INASP's AuthorAID project does great work in supporting researchers around the globe, and we are proud to support AuthorAID."
INASP Associate Ravi Murugesan added: "We hope that this wonderful opportunity will help many developing-country researchers cross the final mile of the journey to publication. If this happens, it will be a major contribution to the AuthorAID mission."
