Pilgrim's Pride to Host Annual Meeting of Shareholders on December 17, 2010

GREELEY, Colo., Nov. 3, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Pilgrim's Pride Corporation (NYSE: PPC) today announced it will host an annual meeting of shareholders on December 17, 2010 at 10 a.m. Mountain time at its corporate headquarters located at 1770 Promontory Circle in Greeley, CO.  

The purpose of the shareholders' meeting will be to review the company's performance during fiscal 2009 and the "transition" quarter ended December 27, 2009.  Shareholders also will be asked to consider the election of directors for the ensuing year; ratify the appointment of Ernst & Young LLP as independent registered public accounting firm for the current fiscal year; and other business as may properly be brought before the meeting.
