"Pilgrimage Tour" - Air China Plans to Inaugurate Beijing-Yangon, Chengdu-Kunming-Yangon Services
BEIJING, March 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Air China plans to inaugurate Beijing-Yangon and Chengdu-Kunming-Yangon services on March 30. Yangon, the city for pilgrimage, the "City of Peace" which oozes immense oriental charms, will be within easy reach.
At the end of 2013, Air China introduced nonstop services from Beijing to Chiang Mai and Siem Reap, and in 2014, the carrier will continue its "Pilgrimage Tour." For travelers who are into off-the-beaten-path options, Yangon is just the right place. It's pure, tranquil, poetic and mysterious. Graceful, resplendent pagodas stand shoulder to shoulder. An easy stroll through Yangon is a trip back in time. Everything here makes visitors believe that Yangon is not to be missed.
As the situation in Myanmar has stabilized, both leisure and business travelers are steadily increasing. Statistics suggest that in the three years from 2010 to 2012, air travelers from China to Yangon increased at a rate of 30.1%, and from January to July 2013, travelers increased by 23.1% year on year. The introduction of the two services - Beijing-Yangon and Chengdu-Kunming-Yangon - will not only meet the needs of Chinese leisure and business travelers, but also offer an additional transit option via Beijing for Southeast Asia travelers to Japan, South Korea, Europe, and America. Moreover, it will further improve Air China's global route network with its hub in Beijing and solidify the role of Chengdu as Air China's regional hub, making southwest China and other parts of the world more accessible to each other.
Air China's Beijing-Yangon four-times weekly service CA715/6 will be operated on Monday/Wednesday/Friday/Sunday with B737-800. The outbound flight departs from Beijing at 19:30 and arrives in Yangon at 22:50 local time. The return flight departs from Yangon at 23:50 local time and arrives in Beijing at 05:50 Beijing time.
