Pierre Gentin, Senior Legal and Risk Executive at Credit Suisse AG, Joins Cahill
NEW YORK, Oct. 13, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Cahill Gordon & Reindel LLP today announced that Pierre M. Gentin, who held senior legal and risk positions at Credit Suisse AG over nearly two decades, has joined the firm as a partner in the Litigation practice group, resident in New York.
Mr. Gentin served until September 2015 as the Global Head of Litigation and Regulatory Investigations for Credit Suisse, advising the bank's board of directors, executive management, and senior business personnel on the full range of litigation and regulatory enforcement issues arising before and after the financial crisis. At Credit Suisse, Mr. Gentin was a member of the General Counsel division's global management committee which ran the 2000-person legal and compliance organization, and a member of the bank's Global Leadership Council comprising Credit Suisse's senior leadership group. William M. Hartnett, Chairman of Cahill's executive committee said, "Pierre brings a deep understanding of what financial services companies need and expect from their lawyers. His judgment and experience guiding one of the world's largest financial institutions through a period of historic litigation and enforcement activity will be of great value to our clients."
Mr. Gentin has extensive experience litigating a wide range of securities, commercial, trade and employment disputes, and investigating and negotiating regulatory and enforcement matters, with a focus on financial services. For nearly two decades, he represented Credit Suisse before government officials, supervisory regulators and enforcement staff worldwide, developed litigation strategies for the bank's most significant cases, and directly negotiated the resolution of its material civil disputes.
"Pierre has long been one of the top in-house lawyers on Wall Street and brings new depth and unique perspective to our practice, as we continue to focus on the litigation and enforcement challenges facing many financial institutions today," said Herbert S. Washer, an executive committee member and a leader of Cahill's litigation practice.
Cahill's Litigation group includes former prosecutors and other lawyers with significant experience in criminal prosecutions and civil enforcement actions. Cahill represents financial institutions, companies, boards of directors, special committees and individuals in government and internal investigations involving virtually every area of white collar criminal and regulatory enforcement.
"Financial services companies know the strength of Cahill's civil litigation and regulatory enforcement practice," Mr. Gentin said. "The caliber of the firm's lawyers, and the consistently strong results that Cahill achieves for clients, speak for themselves. I am honored to be joining the firm."
