PicoBrew Inc. named as CES Innovation Awards Honoree

SEATTLE, Nov. 11, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- PicoBrew Inc. today announced that it has been named a 2015 CES Innovation Awards Honoree for its Zymatic®: the world's first automatic, all-grain, beer brewing appliance. Products entered in this prestigious program are judged by a preeminent panel of independent industrial designers, independent engineers and members of the trade media to honor outstanding design and engineering in cutting-edge consumer electronics products across 28 categories.

PicoBrew joins the ranks of innovators such as Nest with their Learning Thermostat and FormLabs with their Form 1 3D printer in receiving this CES honor.  PicoBrew's Zymatic®, recognized under the Home Appliance product category, is the first beer brewing appliance of its kind to receive the honor.

PicoBrew Inc. was founded in 2010 by brothers Jim and Bill Mitchell and Avi Geiger. The team used their professional backgrounds in software development, food chemistry and engineering to develop and produce the Zymatic®.

The PicoBrew Zymatic® improves the precision, repeatability, and overall quality of the beer-brewing experience. The Zymatic® simplifies and automates the process of home beer brewing, allowing anyone to brew high-quality craft beer in the comfort of their own kitchen.

CES Innovation entries were evaluated on their engineering, aesthetic and design qualities; intended use/function and user values; how the design and innovation of the product directly compares to other products in the marketplace; and the novel features it presents.

The prestigious CES Innovation Awards are sponsored by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)^®, the producer of the International CES, the global gathering place for all who thrive on the business of consumer technology.
