PIA Praises House Passage of Terrorism Insurance Renewal, Urges Senate to Quickly Follow Suit
WASHINGTON, Jan. 7, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The National Association of Professional Insurance Agents (PIA) praises the U.S. House of Representatives for passing bipartisan legislation that extends the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act (TRIA) for six years. The vote was an overwhelming 416-5. The bill also includes a provision that benefits Main Street insurance agents, the National Association of Registered Agents and Brokers (NARAB II).
"PIA commends the House's passage of a long-term TRIA extension," said PIA National Executive Vice President & CEO Mike Becker. "This legislation provides the certainty that America's businesses and insurance consumers need. We urge the Senate to pass this bill without delay."
