PIA National Wins Four Hermes Creative Awards
WASHINGTON, May 4 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The National Association of Professional Insurance Agents (PIA National) has been named the recipient of four prestigious awards in the Hermes Creative Awards 2010 competition, administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP).
PIA National's principal communications vehicle PIA Connection received two Platinum Awards, presented to the most outstanding entries in the international competition. PIA Connection received one Platinum Award for overall excellence and an article entitled Women in Insurance – An Agent's Story, written by past PIA National President Donna L. Pile also received a Platinum Award for excellence.
Hermes' prestigious Platinum Award is presented to those entries judged to be among the most outstanding entries in the competition. Platinum winners are recognized for their excellence in terms of quality, creativity and resourcefulness.
The PIA web microsite Reaching Gen Y http://www.piageny.com/ received the Hermes Gold Award, presented to those entries judged to exceed the high standards of the industry norm. Reaching Gen Y is a project of The PIA Partnership, a group comprised of senior insurance executives from 12 companies committed to working with professional insurance agents to increase market share by conducting research, developing tools and improving the dialogue between agencies and companies.
A PIA National white paper, PIA's Roadmap to State Regulatory Modernization, received an Honorable Mention for graphic design and illustration.

The Hermes Creative Awards program is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP). The awards program is an international competition for creative professionals involved in the concept, writing and design of traditional materials and programs, and emerging technologies. There were over 3,600 entries from throughout the United States and several other countries in the Hermes Creative Awards 2010 competition. Entries came from corporate marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, PR firms, design shops, production companies and freelancers.
Some other winners in the Hermes Creative Awards 2010 competition include American Express, the Annenberg Public Policy Center, Booz Allen Hamilton, Carnegie Mellon University, Edelman Worldwide, MetLife Investors, Monsanto, The National Council on Compensation Insurance, Northrop Grumman, Office Max, Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide, Porter Novelli, Sprint Nextel and UnitedHealthcare.
The Hermes Creative Award is named for the ancient Greek messenger, Hermes. In Greek mythology, Hermes is also the Olympian god of orators and wit, of literature and poets, and invention and commerce in general.
The Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals also administers the prestigious MarCom Awards. PIA National received three MarCom awards – two in 2007 and one in 2008 – along with a Hermes Gold Award in 2008 for the PIA Branding Program – Local Agents Serving Main Street America.
