READING, Mass., May 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Physicians Interactive (PI), leading provider of insight-driven digital engagement solutions for healthcare professionals and consumers, is pleased to announce that the company's Chairman and CEO Donato Tramuto is joining an influential group of business and medical leaders at Brown University to advise academia on one of the foremost forces in the world today — healthcare.
As a member of the Executive Master of Healthcare Leadership (EMHL) advisory committee, Tramuto will provide expert insight that strengthens the ability of Brown's EMHL program to foster the necessary skills to help students drive radical innovations within the healthcare industry.
"Brown's Healthcare Leadership program exemplifies the power of what I call 'Collaborative IQ.' It also reflects the increasingly collaborative nature of healthcare itself, from hospitals and practices merging to become a patient's single medical home, to companies and non-profits joining together to bring healthcare to the world's most underserved regions," said Tramuto. "I look forward to working with my fellow advisory members to empower students to become leaders who ignite change and make lasting impacts in healthcare."
In addition to his founder, Chairman and CEO roles at Physicians Interactive, Tramuto is the founder of Health eVillages, a non-profit organization in partnership with Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights that brings state-of-the-art mobile technology with embedded, trusted medical content to the most remote areas of the world. To distribute annual college scholarships in his home state of Maine, and financial grants supporting health, education and other non-profits, Tramuto also created the Ogunquit, Maine-based Tramuto Foundation.
In 2014, Tramuto received the prestigious Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Ripple of Hope Award, alongside fellow laureates Tony Bennett, Hillary Clinton and Robert De Niro, in recognition of his three decades of commitment to social change by advancing healthcare and human rights around the world.
In 2015, Tramuto received an honorary doctorate of Humane Letters from University of Massachusetts Lowell in recognition of his numerous achievements, especially his commitment to healthcare access and quality and furthering the life sciences industry through leadership, innovation, motivation, mentorship and philanthropy.
Additionally, Tramuto was honored as a 2015 PM360 ELITE Award winner by PM360 Magazine for his transformational leadership and Collaborative IQ approach to resolving one of the industry's biggest challenges: enhancing healthcare access around the world.
Brown University's Executive Master of Healthcare Leadership program is an accelerated graduate program of intense study focused on preparing leaders of transformative change in the American healthcare industry. Graduates lead in the clinical, corporate and public sectors, and promote outstanding healthcare for patients, as well as financial health for their organizations. EMHL is a 16-month blended program of online and residential learning that allows professionals to work while earning this prestigious graduate degree.
"Mr. Tramuto is an inspiring and transformational leader, and an outstanding model for our students from the provider, payer, life sciences, legal, advocacy and scholarly communities who will continue to advance healthcare. His passion and personal commitment to improving patient outcomes and driving results that better the bottom line are widely recognized, and we are pleased to welcome him to the Advisory Committee," said Karen Sibley, Vice President for Strategic Initiatives and Dean of the School of Professional Studies at Brown University.
